Retinol blinding protein (RBP) is a kind of small protein secreted by liver in plasma. It was first isolated in 1968 by Kanai et al., and in 1971 by Peterson and Beeggard from urine.

RBP4 is A secreted RBP in retinol-binding protein family, which is composed of 181 amino acids with a molecular weight of 21KD. It is a carrier protein with a single peptide chain, and has a specific site to bind a molecule of vitamin A. It can transport vitamin A from liver to target organs and realize intracellular transport and metabolism of vitamin A.

RBP has A short half-life and is a specific transporter of vitamin A in blood, which can reflect the disease status of the body sensitively. In the past, RBP was considered to be a sensitive index for early diagnosis and curative effect observation of renal diseases. However, in recent years, more and more studies have found that serum RBP or urine RBP levels are closely related to renal function, liver function, clinical nutrition status, epidemic hemorrhagic fever, tumor diagnosis and other aspects.

RBP antibody (RBP polyclonal antibody) provided by Abgree company, latex enhanced turbidimetric reagent prepared by coupling latex particles, has a good correlation and specificity compared with mainstream reagents in the market. After nearly 10 years of accumulation, has been recognized by many companies and bulk procurement.
